Our Makers & Magpies
Maker (def.): Someone who develops, designs, and produces products, often leveraging technology, creativity, and problem-solving skills.
Magpie (def.): A highly intelligent bird in the Corvidae family, which includes crows, ravens, jays, and nutcrackers; Used in comparison to people who collect random stuff and shiny things. The myth was popularized in Rossini's 1817 opera, The Thieving Magpie; Eastern cultures believe it's an omen of good luck, good fortune, and brings blessings of abundance.

I absolutely love the way Christi's print adds such color to my living room, and people always ask about it!

Dianne
Dianne Preston has played around with various arts and crafts her whole life - simply as hobbies and enjoyable learning experiences. As an adult, she started with beading jewelry, and her mom, Pat, got addicted to the craft herself (see below.) Over 20 years later, during the pandemic holidays apart from friends and family, Dianne found her zen in dot-painting personalized "You are LOVED!" rocks for them.
She has continued her dotting journey and can oftentimes be found perusing thrift stores to find treasures she can beautify and revive. Dianne's other passions include creative cooking, music festivals, playing percussion, camping/time outdoors, teaching others, and hanging with her sweet hubby Mike, two kitties, and their doberman princess, Baya.

Christi
Christi Wilson loves colors and interesting paper. She is inspired by landscapes and the curves of the human body. She creates bright, textured collage art from scrapbooking and painted paper, and sometimes things like burlap and cork. Her works bring joy and vibrancy to life! She was a Montessori educator for a long time, and she loves to travel, camp, and read. She lives with her husband Dave and their two funny little dogs, Mademoiselle and Miriam. Their three grown children have flown the nest.

Pat & Julie

Patricia Drenten (Dianne's mom) and Julie Ramezani (left) became fast friends once Pat started spending her summers in a tiny trailer on a farm near Rugby, U.K. They spent most days together - playing cards and primarily enjoying their time as makers. Pat shared her passion for creating beaded jewelry with Julie, and the game was on! Pat continued to summer in England as long as she could, and Julie visited the U.S. many times to see her "Patty" and to exchange more treasures they each had created. Pat left us in June, 2025, and we honor both of these wonderful artists by combining their pieces in a single collection, regardless of which of them crafted each one.

Jenevieve
Jenevieve Andersen has been captivated by photography since childhood, borrowing her father’s camera at age 12 and discovering a lifelong passion behind the lens. For over 30 years, photography has been more than a career — it’s been her love, her art, and her way of seeing the world.
As a seasoned creative manager, Jenevieve brings both vision and precision to her work. But her heart truly comes alive outdoors, where she captures the raw beauty of nature — from sweeping landscapes and delicate florals to majestic mountains and endless coastlines. She also has a deep appreciation for architectural forms, with a strong emphasis on composition and visual storytelling.
Whether in the studio or deep in the wild, Jenevieve creates images that reflect both technical mastery and an artist’s soul.
